THE COMPANY

Tiny Wood Stove is a small business serving the tiny living community with wood stoves, flue parts, accessories, and people to back it up.  We’re passionate about simple, intentional living, and we spend our time supporting people building tiny, mobile, and unconventional living spaces.  Have you seen those Tiny House shows on HGTV, and people building their homes out of old school buses or vans on Instagram?  That’s some of the people we serve.

Our customer support staff are all remote employees, living in RVs, buses, and tiny homes throughout the country.  We maintain a shop space in Hayden, Idaho for warehousing inventory, order fulfillment, and some light fabrication and tinkering.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone to take charge of our in-house manufacturing, prototyping and special projects.  While we outsource most of our manufacturing, there is a growing list of products that we manufacture in-house.  You should be a self-starter, handy / jack-of-all-trades, curious, willing to tackle new challenges, and unquestionably dependable. Previous welding/fabrication experience is a plus. Previous CNC & CAD experience or a desire & willingness to learn a huge plus.

The right candidate will be a good fit for our company culture / values and genuinely enjoy making things and solving problems.

 

THE POSITION

Starting immediately.  This position reports to the Operations Manager and handles all In-house fabrication of accessories, stoves, and prototyping/special projects.

FABRICATION

  • Hand Forged Fire Poker Tools
  • Sheet Metal Dustpan & Sweep
  • Assembly of Cast Iron Shipmate Skippy Stove
  • Assembly of Cast Iron Shipmate 211 Stove
  • Fabrication of Sheet Metal Shipmate Smoke Hood

Our shop currently is equipped with:

  • Welder & Plasma Cutter
  • CNC Router
  • Drill Press
  • Metal Brake & Shear
  • Deep Throat Shear
  • Bead & Crimp Tool
  • Ring Roller
  • Propane Forge
  • Chop Saw / Table Saw
  • Large Air Compressor

In addition to fabrication, assisting the warehouse crew with shipping and receiving will occasionally be needed depending on the season and demand.

 

COMPENSATION

Hourly pay is $18 - $22 per hour depending on experience and qualifications (after 30 day probationary and training period at $15/hour).  Weekly schedule and daily hours are flexible according to your needs but must be scheduled at least a week in advance.

Part-time to start, ~25 hours a week, likely to grow to full time in the near future.
