3″ TINY HOUSE Small Stove Installation Kit – METAL Roof Exit BUNDLE

(3 customer reviews)

$583.00

A roof installation is the easiest, cheapest, and most efficient flue configuration for wood stoves. This 3″ kit comes with the parts you will need to safely get through the metal or rubber roof of your tiny house, shed, or small cabin. Most installs will require a bit more pipe than the 53″ to 58″ of vertical pipe included in the kit. Run your installation measurements through our Flue Parts Calculator to make sure you’ve got everything you need or contact us with any questions. If you have a shingle roof, use the 3″ Tiny House Shingle Roof Kit instead.

SKU: 3"THMetalRoofKit Categories: ,

This kit is for venting 3” stoves like The Dwarf 3kw LITE (pre-2019 models), Cubic-Mini Cub & Grizzly and the Pipsqueak, through the metal or rubber roof of a tiny house, shed or small cabin.  If you have a shingle or rubber roof, use the 3″ Shingle Roof Kit instead. For more steeply pitched roofs, use the Extreme Angle Pipe Boot instead of the standard one included in this kit.

Since every installation is a little bit different you will need additional single wall pipe and may need additional double-wall pipe to complete your installation.  Use our flue parts calculator to help figure out how much extra pipe you need in addition to the kit. Code for residential installation says, “ 3 ft minimum from roof penetration and 2 ft minimum above highest point of anything within 10 ft.”

Note: If using this kit on the Cubic-Mini line of stoves you’ll need to tweak the male end of our pipe to fit the stove or use our Cubic Mini adapter.  See our primer on Cubic Mini flue systems here.

Looks like a great set up for self installer. I am not able to do this install. If you know of any experienced Installers in Northern, CA or Nevada, have them contact me [email removed]

Lorrie- Thanks for the question. While most of our customers self-install their wood stoves, a fair number of them get professional help. You can check out our featured installers to see if there’s someone in your area that we’ve worked with before. You can also contact your local chimney sweep company to see if they do installs, or know anyone who will.

Which 3" stove did you install? Cubic Mini Cub

Just need to say, in the way of a great big thank you, that the support team at Tiny Wood Stove is absolutely fantastic. A specially huge shout-out to Dan!! The team was always prompt in replying to my orders and to my many questions—above and beyond what could be expected—and all their advice was pertinent and well-thought out.
A bit of history: When I bought my wall-mounted Cubic stove two years ago, Cubic didn’t offer insulated exit pipes/chimneys and they recommended Tiny Wood Stove to me. I was a bit concerned as I live in Canada and the exchange on the dollar was going to hurt. However, the kindness and cooperation re shipping advice etc. rid me of worries early on. Due to personal reasons, work on the project was delayed by a couple of years and yet when I contacted Tiny Wood Stove, they had me on file and were super as I went about installing the stove and the chimney, even though we were dealing with an earlier product line and not the latest up-to-date models now available.
I leave you to imagine the difficulties of using two different companies’ products and dealing with a tricky installation in an eccentric cobb studio with ceiling and roofing eccentricities to match. However, you don’t have to imagine the kind and generous support that led to a successful and good-looking installation (if I do say so myself) because I’m here to tell you the support was stellar.
Thank you all at Tiny Wood Stove for dealing with a 72 yr. old luddite!

Thanks so much for the review! I’m glad I was able to help with your tricky install, and while I know it took a little more work than you were planning on, the finished result looks fantastic.

For context, this install uses Cubic Mini’s double-wall connector pipe painted black with a Cubic Mini wall mount. The top of the Cubic Mini pipe had to be cut shorter to make everything land correctly and avoid a clearance violation with the ceiling rafters. Since the current Cubic Mini adapter wasn’t available when this order was placed, the Single-to-Double adapter is hacked to fit inside of the cut end of the Cubic Mini pipe, which is covered with a single-wall clamp. Then, everything above that is our standard 3″ Tiny House Roof Exit kit, passing through a custom-made sheet metal box.

Ideally, if we were going to do this again, we’d use a shorter Cubic Mini pipe in the exact length you need to avoid having to cut it. Then we could use the Cubic Mini adapter on top to easily transition to the Single-To-Double adapter. But it’s good to know that the pipes can be made to fit together with a cut Cubic Mini pipe.

Ultimately, it’s a really nice looking finished product, and I know you’ll be spending many cold Winter days enjoying the real wood fire in your tiny house.
