Who are you? Tell us something about your tiny living journey!

We are Janelle and Colt!! We self converted a school bus into a tiny home (skoolie) and have been living in it full time!! We do have plans to travel one day but right now we are starting a homestead on 8 acres while living in our skoolie! Our free time mostly consists of gardening as of right now and canning all of our produce for the winter months, while selling a little bit along the way.

Where did you install your stove?

We installed our wood stove in a bus! We live in PA so the winters here get pretty brutal, but we have all seasons here which is something we love. Our wood stove helps us get through the winter months.

How did your tiny living journey begin and what were your reasons? How long have you been living tiny?

We chose to live tiny for many different reasons but mainly to be our stepping stone and freedom since our home is on wheels. We have been living in the bus for about 6 months now and love every aspect of it. There is a lot more work to do with a house on wheels but the “rent free” aspect evens it out. Neither of us really knew what we wanted long term, as far where to live, so we figured the skoolie option was something to get us in whatever direction we wanted to go.

How did you decide on a Dwarf stove?

It’s the best heating option! For us, this was something we knew we needed to be sure we had enough heat in the PA winters. We saw some of our online friends going this route and knew it was what we needed. There are other tiny stoves out there, but none that I felt confident enough to warm up our space. Traditional wood stoves seemed like overkill and they took up too much space. These wood stoves were the perfect solution to our heating problem!

How difficult was the installation process? Did you need any assistance of any kind?

The installation was very easy! I would say for us the clearances took us the longest just because we wanted to be beyond safe in that aspect. After we had that finished it was all pretty easy after that.

How has your experience been using the Dwarf? Have you been enjoying having a tiny wood stove in your space?

We love our tiny wood stove!!! I, Janelle, am not a winter person AT ALL so being able to have a cozy warm stove cranking all winter makes the cold months more bearable.

Would you recommend a tiny wood stove to others?

Absolutely!! This company has something for everyone’s needs, and the stove itself is so cute and well made. The customer support is amazing, it’s all around an amazing company. I personally try to support small businesses as much as I can and if you do any research on this tiny wood stove company, you are supporting family’s, who take pride in what they do.

I just want to say thank you!! The support, the warmth, and the friendship with you guys over the last couple years has been awesome. Keep up the good work!!
