FAQ
Application of 90-degree elbow vs. tee
This is a common question and each piece has a specific application for two different parts of the flue system:
- 90-degree elbow – top of the single wall pipe in a wall exit
- Tee – bottom of the single wall pipe, comes off the back of the stove

Compatibility
Direct Air Intake: The Direct Air intake has a close fit when used in conjunction with the rear exit tees on some stoves.
- Dwarf 3kW: Flatten the handle on the rear exit tee cap or cut it off to fit the direct air intake underneath. You’ll need to remove the direct air intake box to be able to remove the tee cap for flue cleaning.
- Dwarf 4kW: You may need to flatten the handle on the rear exit tee cap to be able to remove the cap for flue cleaning without needing to remove the direct air intake box.
Petit Godin stove: If you are using this part to install a Petit Godin stove with a 4″ flue system, you’ll need to cut the male end off the leg of the tee. The Petit Godin uses a male 4″ flue flange instead of the typical female flue flange. Use an angle grinder to remove the male crimp up to the shoulder, and install with stove cement on the inside of the pipe and the outside of the flange, instead of vice-versa.
