Description
What an elbow kit does
A pair of 30° elbows shifts the chimney sideways so it can step around a rafter, beam or other obstruction and then continue straight up. Add pipe between the elbows for a bigger offset.
What makes MightyVent different
- Fully insulated bend. Ceramic fiber surrounds the flue through the bend, just like the straight pipe.
- Aim the offset. The bottom end of each elbow has no twist-lock teeth, so you can turn it to aim the offset before you clamp it.
- Everything for one offset. Two elbows, a clamp for each and a 304 stainless elbow strap.
- UL listed. Part of the MightyVent UL 103 Type HT chimney system.

How much offset you get
Join the elbows directly, or add MightyVent 5″ pipe between them for a bigger offset. Figures are from the MightyVent installation manual and can vary by up to 1″, so always check dimensions on site.
| Pipe between elbows | Offset | Rise |
|---|---|---|
| 0 (elbows joined) | 1.5″ | 13″ |
| 10″ | 6.5″ | 21.75″ |
| 15″ | 9″ | 26″ |
| 20″ | 11.5″ | 30.5″ |
| 15″ + 15″ | 16″ | 38″ |
| 30″ | 16.5″ | 39″ |
| 40″ | 21.5″ | 47.75″ |
Use no more than two offsets (four elbows) per chimney and no more than two pipe sections between elbows, up to 48″ total, which covers every offset in the table. With two sections between the elbows, add a second MightyVent 5″ Elbow Strap (sold separately) at the joint between them. Strap the upper elbow to framing before adding more pipe.
