6″- 11″ High Temp Silicone Pipe Boot Gasket

(1 customer review)

$70.00

This High-Temp silicone (not EDPM) pipe boot is used for sealing your stove pipe and roof for a perfect water tight seal. Fits our 4″ and 5″ insulated pipe (6″ and 7″ outer diameter) out of the box with no trimming.  Can be trimmed to fit larger pipes up to 11″ diameter. Works great for flat or pitched roofs, with a nonporous roofing material like metal (including standing seam or corrugated) or rubber roofs.  Not compatible with most shingle roofs.

These boots are custom made for us in gray for aesthetic reasons. Most silicone pipe boots you can source in North America are orange, but there’s no physical reason why they need to be orange.  You can source black or gray EDPM boots but they don’t have the same temp ratings as silicone.

Availability: In stock

SKU: 6-11IN-BOOT Categories: , ,

Fits Pipe Outside Diameter: 6″ – 11″

Base Dimensions 14″ x 14″

Features a flexible aluminum base for forming boot to fit over corrugated roofs.

Boot is sealed (any sealer that is recommended for silicone + your roof surface) then screwed to roof surface.

This pipe boot is best used with our 4″ & 5″ Insulated Pipe. Our smaller round pipe boot will work with 4″ insulated pipe depending on your roof pitch. This boot gives 4″ pipe more space for steeper pitched roofs.

Pitch Limitations:

4″ Insulated Pipe: 7/12 with 2″ clearance, 7/12 with zero clearance – limitation due to boot’s inability to bend at steeper angles
5″ Insulated Pipe: 2/12 with 2″ clearance, 7/12 with zero clearance

Any combustible materials must be removed to 2″ away from the insulated pipe passing through the roof.  A non-combustible roof (e.g. a metal roof with no wood sheathing underneath) can be cut closer to the pipe, but not touching.

For more steeply pitched roofs, check out the Extreme Angle Pipe Boot.

This boot is one of the few available in silicone in a really nice gray color. I have a moss green yurt with grey accents and a white roof. This boot worked perfectly to seal the opening as well as keeping with a clean look. It made a super tight seal around my double wall pipe exiting out the wall and I was able to use a series of bolts and weather sealant around the edge to made a really tight fit through the wall. This not only looks great but also probably saved me quite a bit of time.

Jonathan- Yes, this high-temp silicone pipe boot is designed for use with Class A pipe (i.e. wood stove chimney pipe), which will be double-wall insulated or triple wall pipe. Single-wall stovepipe could easily exceed the temperature rating on this boot, but single-wall pipe isn’t permitted to be used for a roof penetration. As long as you’re using proper Class A chimney pipe, this boot is a good choice.

  3. Question

    Me (verified owner)

Would this work for a 6″ exterior pipe ( Double wall.
    Stove’s Manual says 6 ” pipe only.
I’m guessing that is the outside diameter..)

The boot fits pipe with an outer diameter of 6″ to 11″. Keep in mind that the larger the pipe, the less boot you’ll have left after trimming it. That means you wouldn’t be able to use it on a roof with a decently steep roof pitch if you cut it down.
