Built for the Road Less Traveled

We built the Dwarf Stove to solve a problem. When setting up our 1966 Airstream adventure trailer, we needed a compact wood stove that was efficient, affordable, and made for off-grid heat. Everything we found was either missing key features, beyond our budget, or designed for much larger spaces.

So we set out to create the perfect stove for small spaces!

The Dwarf 3kW Lite wood stove is built specifically for small spaces. It’s ideal for RVs, trailers, vans, skoolies, yurts, and other tiny setups where you want efficient, dry heat during your travels or weekend getaways.

Dwarf 3kW LITE Key Features

The 3kW LITE is identical in size and heat output to the standard Dwarf 3kw but a fraction of the weight and at a lower price. To get these savings we removed all the bells and whistles for a very simple, lightweight and modestly priced stove. What’s left is a simple, efficient tiny wood stove that’s perfectly suited for spaces where size, weight and budget are top priority. See the complete 3kW LITE vs 3kW Standard comparison here.

Construction and Functionality

Body
Made from thick steel plate, between 3/16 inch and 5/16 inch, for strength and durability in tough travel conditions.

Door
Cast iron with a large viewing window for a cozy, radiant heat source and optimal heat retention (cast iron remains hot much longer than steel)

Flue Outlet
The Dwarf 3kW LITE uses a 4″ flue exit that exits out the top of the stove.

Air Controls
The 3kW LITE’s primary and secondary air are combined and controlled by a lever below the firebox. A tertiary air wash above the door keeps the glass clean and helps the fire burn more efficiently.

Firebox
The firebox is made of cast iron for even heat and long life. The fire bricks are made from 2 lightweight ceramic fiberboards which reflect heat back to the fire for hot, clean-burning and protects the stove body from damage.

Ash Management
The cast iron grate at the bottom of the firebox allows ash to fall through. During a fire you can easily sift out ash by shifting the coals around with a long tool. Below the grate is a removable ash pan that catches ash for easy disposal. No need to dig it out with a shovel.

Dwarf Stove, gigantic appeal! This stove has surpassed all my expectations. We use the stove aboard our 50′ sailboat on cool nights, sitting under the stars. A small amount of wood goes a long way to help keep us warm and the glass door does amazing things for the ambiance. We use Dickinson stainless stove pipe to vent the smoke downwind. Our sailing friend has a Dwarf installed inside her boat and it keeps the cabin toasty warm. A small stove with big performance that we gladly recommend!!!

I just want to say that if i was able to give more than 5 stars i would. I couldn’t be happier with this product. I have had my 3kw LITE for almost a year now and have had zero issues with it. It is very efficient and will burn all night if needed. It is very well built and looks good to. I have this is my 308sq ft tiny house (including lofts) and have no issues at all heating it. The customer service i received while buying this was great, they answered any questions i had and was willing to help in anyway. you can tell they stand behind their product which is hard to come by anymore. Thanks again for a great wood stove.

What kind of structure are you heating? Cabin

It’s been a few years since I installed this stove in my tiny log cabin. Couldn’t be happier with it. In the mornings it takes the temp. from mid-50’s to mid-70’s inside of an hour. Takes frequent feeding, small wood pieces. It really puts out the heat.

Thanks for the question, Christine. The Dwarf 3kW’s firebox will fit logs up to 8 inches long. We find a standard length log (about 16 inches) cut in half will fit nicely.

The 3kW Lite is designed to save weight for those structures that need to be more conscious of how heavy they are. The Lite version comes with a ceramic fiber panel instead of bricks. The 3kW Standard, 4kW and 5kW all come with standard fire bricks.

I wanted a wood fire option for heating my studio on the Oregon Coast. I had tried electric and Eco Fuel fireplaces on other projects and found that I missed the crackle and flame of a real wood fire. After much searching for a quality tiny wood stove, I finally landed on the Dwarf 3kw Light. It works flawlessly in my 200 square foot building. The quality of construction is fantastic! Second only to the amazing service I received from the team at Tiny Wood Stove. I highly recommend them and there products. The stove parts and fittings all worked beautifully together and I couldn’t be more pleased with the finished product.

What kind of structure are you heating? Tiny House

After building our tiny home, me and my girlfriend felt we needed a backup heat source. I spent weeks searching for a wood stove that would work for our space, and the search was over after finding the dwarf 3kw lite. It heats our 200sqft space plenty, and adds a cozy feeling. Customer service is phenomenal and the company seems passionate about what they do as well. I highly recommend doing business with tinywoodstove.

      Lacey-

The Lite does not have the pre-drilled holes to attach the heat shields so they are not compatible. You would need to purchase the 3kW Standard if you want to use our stove-mounted heat shields. Thanks!
