We stumbled into the Tiny Wood Stove business after trying to source a stove for our Tiny Home a 1966 Airstream. We wanted a modest sized wood burner for affordable off-grid dry heat. After scouring the internet to find every possible solution we compiled a list of all the options. What we found was a bunch of stoves that were not ideal for our situation. They weren’t the right size, they didn’t have the right features or they were beyond our budget. So we set out to create the perfect stove for small spaces. The Dwarf is efficient, durable and affordable!

The sturdy body is made of thick 3/16″ – 5/16th Steel Plate.

The door is made of high-quality cast iron with a large fire viewing window for a classy look while providing optimal heat retention.

The 5” flue outlet can exit out the top or the rear of the stove depending on your needs. Exiting out the rear of the stove allows the entire top surface to be used as a cooking plate while exiting out the top of the stove allows are tighter installation with less clearances.

The Dwarf gives you complete control over primary, secondary and tertiary air supplies. The airtight primary and secondary air are controlled by separate levers on the bottom of the stove and the tertiary air-wash is controlled by a slide valve just above the door.

The Dwarf firebox is made of durable cast iron and fire brick. Cast iron is very durable with for continuous use, and the fire bricks keep reflect heat back into the firebox for a more efficient burn.

The bottom of the firebox is a cast iron grate with a mechanical lever (located lower left of door) that engages the floor of the grate sifting out ash from the firebox. This handy feature is a must for coal, and helps to quickly and efficiently clean out the firebox. Below the grate is a removable ash pan for easy disposal.

You can customize the look of your stove by adding the tall cast iron legs or wood storage stand.  Turn the Dwarf 5kW stove into a cookstove by adding the oven attachment.  Limited numbers of enamel doors are available as a special order item (contact us if you’d like one).  Future accessories include a water boiler option and factory heat shields.

400mm/16” sides, 450mm/18” rear. You can reduce required clearances by up to 2/3 with a properly designed heat shield.

The Dwarf can safely burn wood, coal or compressed logs.

NOTE: This stove is not intended for residential heating. It is currently uncertified and only offered for recreational use.

Tiny Wood Stove was great to deal with. Dan went above and beyond to deal promptly and fairly with concerns we had about the oven. Note: our flue design and extreme cold temperatures (-30 C) made using the oven unfeasible for us but it should work well for others who don’t have similar issues.
Now for the review of the Dwarf 5kw stove without the oven attached. If you’re familiar with larger wood stoves, the small size takes some getting used to. We’re using it in a 12×24 cabin – anything larger would have been too big for us. Even at -30C we can have the window open a crack and the stove dampered down. We are limited in space and did add a heat shield around the stove – more for our peace of mind than an actually overheating concern. The stove is easy to light, drafts well. We do put our 8-10″ firewood in length wise to stop it from rolling out when the door is opened. The grate in front could be a couple inches higher to help keep wood in but at this time, that’s our only suggestion for improvement.
Overall a great product and support from Tiny Wood Stoves is awesome.

I love it! After looking at many small stoves to put in my 5th wheel, I found the 5KW to be the best. I have a 300 square ft RV and it heats it up from 59F to 72F in about 25 min. Once I cut a hole in the ceiling (the most daunting part) , the rest of the installation was super easy. Dan emailed me back promptly every time I had questions or concerns. The customer service is spot on. I will definitely add the oven in the future. I would highly recommend anyone that wants a wood stove in their RV or trailer to go with these guys.

I could not be happier. It was well worth the wait while it was on backorder. I had considered many other brands but the Dwarf 5KW was just perfectly sized for my application in my 16′ Yurt. As the yurt is uniquely shaped with high ceilings, dome and minimally insulated walls I went back and forth between the 4kw and 5kw. Dan helped me work through the decision and he was spot on with his recommendation of the 5kw. I can keep the yurt very warm or even like a sauna if I want at 7,500′ in Durango Colorado with 15 degree temps and 3 ft of snow around it. They really package each item I received with great care. I got a tracking number and there was not a scratch on any of the items when they arrived. Great company with really friendly customer service. I highly recommend ordering a Dwarf stove. They are amazing!

The stove installed in the shepherds wagon I built for a client. It all installed really well and the stove pipe went together great! I want to tell you this: you are one of the best online companies I have had the privilege to do business with! Not only is this Dwarf stove one of the best stoves I have ever seen in that size, it is beautiful when all lit up and burning. Also your support was absolutely the best! Thank you for the great product. I know that the owner will appreciate its warmth and ease of use.

This review has been a few months in the making. I purchased the dwarf 5kw in January (it is now April) and I could not be happier with this product. I had lots of questions before purchasing about what size I would need, how to install the flue, clear space, and Dan was there every step of the way with prompt answers to my questions. He gave very good suggestions and videos to watch to help me with every part of installation.
My wife and I live in a 36 ft 5th wheel and this stove had no problem keeping the trailer warm on cold windy nights. We have used it as our primary heating source and it has been nice to have almost no cost of propane or electricity. Where we live the temperature regularly hits 0-10 degrees F and you can expect to pay $300 a month in propane during the coldest months. This stove will easily pay for itself in 2 seasons. I believe you get what you pay for and this stove is nothing but high quality and is built to last.
I also want to mention their customer service. When my stove arrived and I had unboxed it, i found to my dismay that the glass on the door had shattered. I contacted Dan about it and a new one was shipped to me free of charge in two days. These people truly want you to have a good experience with them and enjoy this product as much as they do.

Installed my 5KW stove last fall. I ordered all parts I needed including a direct-air kit and some accessories from Tiny Wood Stove. I got all the advise and help I needed from the good folks there and installed it all in my cabin that is used for a getaway by me and my family. Installation was trouble free with guidance and information from Dan and the crew. The stove performed flawlessly and kept the cabin warm even on the coldest nights. It was a pleasure doing business with Dan and can only highly advise others looking for a wood stove and anything that goes with that to get it with Tiny Wood Stove. I have not been compensated for this review, I’m just a guy that appreciates a quality product. Jesse

My husband Brian and I bought your 5w stove in November or December of last year. We just love it!! It has kept us warm all winter in our 5th wheel camper here in North Central Wisconsin. Alot of people ask us… how are you making it through the winter? We tell them we are plenty warm, our dwarf stove is amazing! Heats up our area in only a few minutes once you get the fire going. We love sitting by it every evening and cooking on it during the day. We really don’t know what we would’ve done without it! It’s top quality and we recommend it to anyone who is looking for a smaller woodstove. We are very grateful to you all for your great friendly service too😊Thank you!!

    Incredible burn time!

How's the stove's output? Just Right

What kind of structure are you heating? Something Else

I installed the 5K stove last fall and it has been a total pleasure! I have the stove installed in our 21×33′ basement which is a walkout in the back and two full-size windows in the front. The burn time is amazing if I load the stove at 9-10 pm, I wake up to a hot bed of coals in the morning at 5-6 am!!! I love the stove and my heating bill was the cheapest winter yet, basically, my heat unit did not turn on while the stove was running. Great product! Love it

How's the stove's output? Just Right

What kind of structure are you heating? Tiny House

When I started my tiny home, I was looking for something that would be a centerpiece for the house. I didn’t expect to find that 10 miles from where I was building! We love our Tiny 4k, it roasts our 200 square feet and gives our Idahome the perfect cozy feeling for those cold spring mornings and autumn nights. Looking forward to years of warmth!
