Jennifer Panehal-Pelayo and my husband and I built an off grid treehouse and we have a Historic farm house that we host as a farm stay and do farm experiences.
Our off grid treehouse is in the mountains of WNC so it gets cold!
We bought the land and have been building the treehouse by hand since 2020 as a challenge to ourselves to build a sustainable yet beautiful and comfortable place for us to vacation and share with others. It’s been about a year since it’s officially been finished!
How did you decide on a Dwarf stove?
We needed to keep the treehouse warm, but didn’t want to use propane, and a normal wood stove would have been too big and too hot. So the dwarf was the perfect solution! We also have enjoyed the customer service side helping us make the decision.
How difficult was the installation process? Did you need any assistance of any kind?
Very easy! We built the hearth, and also installed the stove itself. Did the first fire. But we did need assistance for the chimney install just because our roof was too high and too steep for us personally. But we definitely could have done it if it was lower height. We also made our own copper heat shield, copper hearth, and copper chimney ceiling guard. It’s gorgeous! Also installed the air vent which was super easy!
How has your experience been using the Dwarf? Have you been enjoying having a tiny wood stove in your space?
It’s been perfect! It works the way it should, it’s beautiful, all our guests take pictures of it! Keeps the treehouse very warm! It’s honestly one of my favorite things about our treehouse! We even light fires when it’s warm out just for the ambiance!
Would you recommend a tiny wood stove to others?
Yea absolutely, and we do often! It’s the perfect solution for a tiny space and versatile!
